Takedown
Effective from 29 October 2026Version 2026-10-29
How to ask us to remove a work of yours, an excerpt from a video of yours or an image in which you appear, including DMCA notices.
What Vexels does with third-party works
Vexels does not publish videos: each user publishes them on their own channel. What we keep are the works we have used (photographs, clips, illustrations) in a library, with their source and licence, so that we can credit them and avoid reusing what should not be reused.
Besides licensed works, a video may include short (less than 7 seconds), edited excerpts from publicly available third-party videos, selected automatically. Those excerpts do not come with a licence: that is why they have their own, faster takedown procedure here.
Who can request removal
- The rights holder of a work (or their representative) who believes it has been used without respecting its licence.
- The owner of a video (the author, whoever published it or their representative) from which an excerpt was taken, even if they do not know which Vexels video it appears in: the link to the original video and the time range are enough for us to find it.
- A person who appears in an image or in a video excerpt and does not want it used.
What you need to send us
- The link to the published video and the minute and second where the work or excerpt appears (or, if it is not published, how to identify it).
- Which work or video it is (the link to the original, if you have it) and, for an excerpt, the part of the original you are claiming.
- Why you are entitled to ask (you are the author, the rights holder, their representative or the person who appears).
- Your name and an email or phone number so we can reply.
- For a notice under US copyright law (DMCA): a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised, a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the rights holder or authorised to act on their behalf, and your physical or electronic signature.
Where to write
Write to soporte@vexels.app with the subject "Takedown".
What we do next
- If your claim concerns an excerpt from a third-party video, we reply within 72 hours at the latest. For other works, within 7 business days at the latest.
- Where appropriate, we remove the excerpt or the work from the user's video that we keep (we deliver them a version without it) and block it in our library so it is not used again in any video.
- We notify the user who published the video so they replace or remove the published copy; their terms require them to do so. The published video lives on the user's platform (YouTube, for example): you can also use that platform's takedown procedure.
- We close the accounts of repeat infringers.
Counter-notice
If you are the affected user and believe the removal is a mistake (for example, because the work has a licence that allows it), write to us at soporte@vexels.app explaining why, with your contact details. We will pass it on to whoever requested the removal and, if they do not take legal action within a reasonable time, we may restore the use.
